In late October, China’s cell therapy sector reached a notable milestone: the 10th IGC Conference on Cell & Derivatives R&D and Industrialization was held in Guangzhou on 30–31 October 2025.

On the morning of 31 October, Professor Runsheng Ruan, founder of Guangzhou Runsheng Cytomed Technology Co., Ltd., joined the roundtable “Innovation and challenges for immune cell therapy in solid tumors / autoimmune indications.” The discussion highlighted how neoantigens can interface with diverse cellular immunotherapy strategies.

1. Emerging targets and technologies for heterogeneous solid tumors
Panelists explored moving beyond conventional targets—combining neoantigen vaccines, rational combination strategies, and microenvironment-focused engineering to address tumor heterogeneity.

2. Clinical design and response assessment
Because solid tumors and autoimmune diseases differ fundamentally from hematologic malignancies, experts underscored individualized protocols and multidimensional assessment integrating imaging, circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), and patient-reported outcomes (PROs).

3. Manufacturing and quality for increasingly complex products
Consensus emphasized standardization, automation, and closed processes, with quality checkpoints spanning the full value chain to support cost control and reliable scale-up.

Featured talk: early TVAC001 IIT data

In the afternoon session, Professor Ruan presented “Preclinical and clinical research data on neoantigen vaccine combined with reactive T cells for advanced solid tumors,” outlining the TVAC001 development path and first disclosure of preliminary investigator-initiated trial (IIT) observations. The presentation stimulated strong discussion among specialists and peers.

Professor Ruan noted that cancer vaccines are often limited by weak immunogenicity and tumor heterogeneity. To address this, Runsheng Cell has built a high-throughput sequencing and bioinformatics–centred neoantigen prioritization stack, pairing personalized neoantigen vaccines with reactive T-cell therapy to deepen anti-tumor immunity.

Preclinical datasets indicated that the neoantigen-reactive T cell (NRT) combination improved immunogenicity and anti-tumor activity without organ toxicity, with immune responses that appeared stronger and more durable than conventional peptide-vaccine comparators in the company’s models. In an exploratory clinical cohort, three advanced solid tumor cases showed favorable safety and meaningful immune signals at early follow-up—hypothesis-generating human data rather than definitive efficacy claims.

“This work is a deliberate step toward fully individualized precision immunotherapy,” Professor Ruan said. “Vaccine plus cellular therapy may overcome single-modality limits and open a new path for patients with refractory advanced disease.”

The release reinforces Runsheng Cell’s scientific direction and accelerates the translation of individualized tumor immunotherapy from concept toward disciplined clinical exploration.
